At Stenvad Peat Works, you can fill your visit with shared activities, games and fun. Out on our lovely grounds, you can split into two teams for a “Bog Duel”, play giant noughts and crosses, search for old coins with a metal detector, pan for gold, or just explore the area around the old factory. Every Tuesday and Thursday during the high season, you can also help make peat using our old kneading machine – guaranteed to leave your arms tired and your hands dirty!
Indoors, there’s room for both play and curiosity. Use microscopes to dive deep into the bog and take a close-up look at plants and animals. Card, spin and weave with wool, try on the clothes of the Huldremose Woman, dress up as a bog body and visit the mysterious brewing cave of the Bog Witch – it’s frightfully cosy!
Relax with a cartoon from mum and dad’s childhood, enjoy an ice cream in the sun, or take a walk in the green surroundings.
